VP/HEAD SCOUT
Jason Ford has accumulated 15 years of experience in team management in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He served as the General Manager and Head Scout for the OHL Barrie Colts from 2011 to 2021, and before that, he was the Assistant GM for the same team from 2006 to 2011. During his tenure as a scout and drafter for the Barrie Colts, he discovered and recruited numerous NHL players, including: Aaron Ekblad, Alex Lepkowski, Andrei Svechnikov, Andrew Mangiapane, Brandt Clarke, Brendan Lemieux, Evan Vierling, Joey Keane, Kevin Labanc, Mackenzie Blackwood, Mark Scheifele, Matthew Hill, Rasmus Andersson, Roy Radke, Ryan Suzuki, Tanner Pearson, Tyson Foerster, Tyler Tucker.
Under Jason’s leadership, the Barrie Colts OHL Club finished first in the Central Division four times and second three times between 2011 and 2020. In 2013, the team won the Eastern Conference Playoff Championship, which was a significant accomplishment for the organization.
In addition to his team management experience, Jason has directed multiple hockey scouting seminars between 2017 and 2020. He has also developed and maintained relationships with various certified player agents and area scouts throughout his career.
Jason is a graduate of Laurentian University, where he earned his H.B. Commerce degree in Sports Administration in 2001. He was born and raised in Orleans, ON, and he currently resides in Barrie, ON, with his family.
